What I'm Excited About This Month

While planning this Colour Inspiration I was sitting and just soaking in the new 2019-2021 In Colors. To me, these new In Colors are calm and peaceful. One of the things I really like about the Rococo Rose and Purple Posy colours is that they are soft and pastel without falling into the baby-theme colours so they remain a bit modern and elegant. Something about these colours made me think of an elegant spa. I wanted to enhance that calm effect by adding in a bit of natural green with Old Olive and a combination of gray tones.
The first card features a lot of texture with strips of patterned and embossed papers. The 2019-2121 In Color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (#149617) strips feature timeless patterns that mix and match beautifully with each other and stamped images. The Smoky Slate background is embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder (#151775) while the Old Olive and Basic Gray cardstock strips are embossed with the Corrugated 3D (#151811) and Layered Leaves 3D (#152321) Embossing Folders. A simple greeting from the Well Said stamp set (#148796) finishes this card perfectly.
The second card is a #simplestamping card that is easy to make and uses only stamps, ink, paper, a couple punches and a touch of ribbon. The 2019-2121 In Color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (#149617) makes a subtle backdrop for a bold floral image created with the Daisy Delight stamp set (#143669), Daisy Punch (#143712), and 1/2" Circle Punch (#119869). (Or use the new Daisy Lane stamp set #149325).
